"I worked with Dave for three years and learned a great deal about weight training and specifically training for hockey.  He took my hockey abilities to another level and taught me a lot both in the weight room and out of it.  I can’t thank you enough Dave for all you’ve done for me.  It made the transition to college hockey a lot easier.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is training at Revolution Athletics for me?

At Revolution Athletics we specialize in the training of hockey players and athletes of all sports.  Our experience in the preparation of athletes from a wide variety of sports  is unparalleled.

We also work with many personal training clients in the pursuit of physical fitness, health and wellness.

Our goal is to improve the quality of your life through increased physical performance whether is be on the court, ice or board-room.

How old does my son/daughter have to be to train at Revolution Athletics?

In order to train at Revolution Athletics we require all clients to be at least 10 years of age (with parental approval and with the exception of family training sessions).  Prior to that it is our opinion that kids should not focus on one sport or specialized training program and instead gain athletic ability from a variety of sources.

What will happen during a typical workout?

A typical workout starts with a 5 minute general warm-up and a 5 minute sport specific or training specific warm-up.  At this point we will move into strength training and then conditioning work (depending on your goals).  Sessions will finish up with stretching and foam-roller work to help loosen up muscular tension & pain.

With athletes we will also add plyometrics, agility work, sport specific balance training and power work (depending on the program).

How long are training sessions?

It depends.  We have 30 minute sessions available for personal training clients and 60 minute session for athletes and personal training clients.  Contact us to determine the right training package that best suits your needs.

What do I need to bring for workouts?

You need to bring workout gear (including running shoes) for all training sessions.  Other than that, we supply the towels, the guidance and the motivation to help you achieve the best results possible.

If you choose to bring a water bottle for workouts that's encouraged but we also sell Gatorade (G2) and bottled water for workouts at for  nominal fee.

Are training sessions done privately or in groups?

All of our training sessions will be in groups, we do not offer private one-on-one training.  The reason for this is that we feel that clients who workout in a group develop a partnership type relationship with other members in the group.  This helps you stay accountable to other people for your workouts and helps with motivation during training sessions.

In some cases clients may choose an hour in the day that it is hard to form a group and in that case they will get a private training session until a partner can be found.

Who creates the overall training programs?

All training programs are custom created for each client based on a complete fitness/performance evaluation by Strength & Conditioning Coach David Pollitt to ensure that optimal results are achieved.

Will I have the same trainer for each workout?

We will try to mix up the trainers you work with on a regular basis so you don't become complacent with a particular trainer.  Since all programs are pre-designed by Coach Pollitt it doesn't really matter who your trainer is because the workouts will be exactly the same no matter who the trainer.

What is the cost for training?

It depends on what program and plan you choose.  Clients that choose the 30 minute training sessions can pay as little as $27.50 per session.  Workouts that are 60 minutes start at just $37.50 per session.

How soon will I see results and how will they be measured?

It depends upon how hard you work and whether or not you follow our advice on external training and nutrition.  Generally clients will see improvements within 3 weeks, and dramatic results within 12 weeks (depending on your commitment level).

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We require a 24 hour cancellation notice.  Our service is a professional service and we like clients to treat it as such and give us plenty of notice prior to a cancellation.  In essence you are paying for a block of time and when people cancel on short notice it is often difficult to fill that spot.

If you have to cancel a training session with less than 24 hours of notice you will be charged for that session (except in the case of a family emergency).

How do I get started?

Come in to our facility, email us (revolutionathletics@yahoo.com) or call us at 714-822-8624 to schedule a free consultation and workout.

"I have very much enjoyed  the challenge in working out under David 's supervision.  He pushes me, listens to my whining and complaining and then pushes me again.  I have definitely enjoyed his information on strength training and have found that there is a marked improvement in my physical level.  He has also given me some great nutrition information and actually said I can enjoy a glass of wine at the end of a long day.  He is very logical in his approach to exercise and well being.   I actually look forward to the days I work out with him."
